431 (1.4057) are martensitic stainless steels that show high mechanical properties and also very good corrosion resistance. It shows much better corrosion resistance due to the addition of small amounts of nickel and the increased chromium content in the composition. Among all stainless steel grades, 1.4057 has one of the best combinations of high strength, corrosion resistance and good impact toughness.
