303 (1.4305) Stainless Steel

1.4305 stainless steel, commonly known as grade 303 stainless steel. Grade 303 is the most easily machinable of all austenitic stainless steel grades. The machinable nature of grade 303 is due to the presence of Sulphur in the steel composition. Whilst sulphur improves machining, it also causes a reduction in corrosion resistance and a slight decrease in toughness.
