316 (1.4401) Stainless Steel

316 stainless steel grade is probably the second most common commercial grade of stainless steel supplied to a large number of industries. It has excellent corrosion resistance in ordinary atmospheric conditions, but also has excellent corrosive resistance to harsher environments such as salt water and environments where resistance to chloride corrosion is required. While it performs well when exposed to relatively high temperatures, like most austenitic stainless steel grades this stainless steel grade retains its strength and toughness at sub-zero temperatures.
