COLD WORK TOOL STEELS
1.2379 cold work tool steel is an alloyed cold work tool steel with a high carbide-forming content. It is characterised by high resistance to abrasive wear, greater ductility, extremely low deformation, tendency to hardening cracks, very high hardenability and also significant dimensional stability during hardening.
Furthermore, thanks to the high chromium content, which contributes to the reduction of thermal conductivity, the durability of the blade is at a high level even as a result of overheating of the tool during intensive use. It is used for making punches, cutters, drafts, reamers, anvils for forging scythes, tools for cutting horn, marble, milling cutters, retractors, rollers, jaws for cold rolling of threads, knives for nail production, cutting boards.
