Tempered Steel

Tempered steels are one of the types of steel that have been heat treated below the melting point, which is around 1370 ºC, and then cooled to improve their physical properties. It is used to increase the strength, hardness and roughness of the steel. When steel is heated and cooled, its physical properties change.

To treat steel, the steel is heated to a certain temperature below its melting point, then the steel is cooled.

Specifications :

  • Steel becomes harder through heating and cooling processes.
  • It can withstand more force without succumbing to deformation.
  • It is highly resistant to wear and tear.
  • It is a very good choice for high stress applications.

Usage of Areas :

Tempered steels are a high strength, low alloy structural steel used for a variety of construction and mining uses. Some of the applications of reclamation steel include: storage tanks, bridges and high-rise buildings, excavator, low-load trailers and loader buckets, machine apparatus, etc.
